For the second straight day, Vino had to miss school, but it’s mostly so he doesn’t fall sick quickly again.

It was going to be a slow day with not much to do. I had him rest so that he could recover his energy. He doesn’t want to drink the fever medicine, but that’s fine, since his temperature is back to normal levels.

We watched the final episodes of Stranger Things, and I guess it’s okay. It’s not life-changing, but it got us hooked enough to care about it for every episode. I understand it’s not for kids, but I never let Vino watch it alone.

Now, to find another series we could watch together.

We had leftovers for lunch, but it’s one of his favorites, so at least he ate well. He just had to drink some of the medicine for his cough and cold, but other than that, he seems fine.

After lunch, I decided to write the blog for a bit. He knows that I write a blog every day, so he would always say “after your blog, can we…” followed by whatever request he may have. While this has become a habit for the past 200+ days, I think I’ll be happy when all this is done.

While writing though, I thought I should stop first and play with him. After all, once his friends are back from school, he would be stuck to his tablet again, so this was a good time for us to play.

We found the Nerf guns and went on a few rounds of war games. When playing these games, I always try to win. No freebies for him, so that he would know that I’m trying my best too. Naturally, I crushed him, whether I had the gun with two shots or one.

We started with 14 bullets, and now we’re only left with 9 – as if we have a huge house where all these bullets could be lost. Still, I really couldn’t find them. Maybe when the cleaner comes, we’ll find a few.

I like this age where I could play these things with him. Sometimes, I wonder how it would be if we became parents early, but I’m thankful that I still have the energy to play games with him despite the bad knees, back, and depleted cardio.

I’m hoping to change a lot of that this year by getting more exercise.

We had to stop so that I could cook, and he went on to play with his friends. Che arrived as I was cooking. Vino did his homework, we ate dinner, and I cleaned up.

While I was in the toilet, Vino told his friends that he needs to hang up for family time. He wanted to play what we played earlier in the day with Che. While Che was surely tired from the day, she felt the need to oblige because she heard how he chose family time over tablet time.

We played a couple of rounds before we called it a night. Vino needed to sleep already to get ready for tomorrow. I guess there was still plenty of adrenaline left from playing, because it took him a while to sleep.

It’s going to be me alone in the house again tomorrow morning, as this guy has to go back to school.
