I didn’t know it was going to be this quick, but I got tired, man.
From the preppy energy I felt on Monday morning, I’m down to scraps already as I needed to hear my alarm to wake up. I also had to drag myself out of bed.
When people say they need to find a reason to get up in the morning in order to get to work, I can’t really relate because I need to get up in the morning whether I like to or not. I can’t call in sick, because this is everyday life at home.
I made breakfast and prepared Vino’s lunch and snacks. As we took the ride heading to school, we slept on the way before I dropped him off.
After I got back home, I had plans of maybe clearing up the bags we used for traveling, but I went to bed and crashed for a bit. I got moving at around 11am, but just moved to the sofa, where I played and doomscrolled my way to unproductivity.
I was so unproductive, I couldn’t even watch a show or play a game.
I left the house early so that I could buy ingredients for dinner. Vino asked to play a bit before going home, so I let him stay in school for a bit.
When we got home, I started cooking and cleaning up the things I neglected earlier in the morning as well as Vino’s lunchbox. He was happy with the ham and cheese omelette I made, but asked for more ham and less cheese next time.
Che got back home while I was still cooking. Usually, she would be sitting at the dining table with her laptop open when she comes home this early. However, this time around, she was nowhere to be found. I found out later that she was cleaning in the room.
After I cooked, I lay beside her on the bed while I watched on my phone. She turned and said she wanted to sleep first. It didn’t take 5 minutes for her to fall asleep.
For all the flak my arm and armpits get, both Che and Vino do fall asleep quickly when they rest their head there. Is it the smell? Is it the fluff? Who really knows? I definitely know it’s not because of the hair.
I couldn’t move, because I wanted her to get some much-needed rest. It was difficult because I could instead watch on TV, but I had to hold on to my phone because the TV remote was nowhere near me.
After a quick powernap that maybe lasted 15 minutes, she got up already, so I told her to have dinner first before sleeping.
Che bought brisket and some beef bones online, which I cooked for this dish. I got corn and a lot of veggies for myself. I wasn’t planning on a second round for this dish, so I decided to finish it all this night.
I didn’t eat a lot throughout the day, and I know that this is not ideal when trying to lose weight, but hey, dinner’s the only time we all get to eat together.
I cleaned up and went back to the room, where we watched Stranger Things. Vino has been watching it with me.
The language isn’t ideal for kids his age, but I know I can’t keep on shielding him from these words. As long as he knows he shouldn’t use it at home, then we’re good. He enjoys it because there are some games that collaborate with the show, so now he gets to see the context of it.
As he told Che, he “knows the lore” of it, but not too much of the story.
We got closure from the end of season 2, and we asked him to sleep already. Che and I watched Taxi Driver, but she hesitated a bit because I slept through the episode last night.
This time around, though, she was the one who fell asleep, so I stopped the episode and put on a different background movie.
Here’s to hoping I have more energy tomorrow!
