Over the Christmas holidays, Che and I were bouncing ideas for a book. We’ve been talking about it for years, but we have a solid concept now.
It’s a collection of things we’ve learned from people that is apparently a shared experience with a lot of people. We’ve settled on an idea and a target audience. I also have an idea of how to execute it. Now, it’s all about making it actually happen.
I started the day surprisingly energetic despite waking up before my alarm went off. Vino requested a home-made cheeseburger for his lunch, so I obliged. I prepared the patties the night before, so it’s a matter of thawing, cooking, and preparing it.
For a personal touch, I wrapped it in wax paper to make it feel like it was ordered from somewhere.
I prepared Che’s coffee and went off to drop Vino off at school. I wanted to start walking or jogging, but decided to use my energy to do things at home.
I started with the blog, but inspiration came to start the backbone for the book. I got a few things started, but I think I will still refine them over time.
From our trip to the PH back in July, I told my sister I’d help her out with content for her online store. So far, I haven’t been able to sit down and study it thoroughly to confidently share content ideas. I feel guilty that I’m starting with this book before that one, but I can’t really control inspiration.
With this fresh idea, I’m hoping to bring to life whatever it was that made it work for us when Che and I first talked about it.
I picked up Vino from school, and he requested pork adobo for dinner. We had to buy our ingredients first before heading home.
We had a cleaner scheduled to come by at 6pm, so I cooked quickly so that I could let her wash the dishes and utensils I used.
I also got some broccoli on discount the other day, so I made some banchan with it. It’s a simple recipe where I blanched the florets in boiling water, washed it with cool water, then mixed in some minced garlic, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
I think I’ll be experimenting on making banchan for us so that we can have veggies regularly.
Vino asked to play NBA 2K with me, but decided he’d play by himself first to practice. I told him he’d improve if he knows the game, so he needs to understand basketball first. With the minimum difficulty, he was able to win, but I told him that as a video game, it’s not as easy to play as football because it’s a lot more player-dependent.
We turned in for the night, but Vino still asked for a snack. It was an apple, so I can’t really be mad, but I felt like he was just making excuses to stay up late. Personally, I was fine with it, as long as he’d get up easily tomorrow.
