Che decided to work from home this day, so we were together at home to end the holiday week for Vino.
She had a lot of cancelled meetings, so it was pretty much an easy day for all of us. We had a cleaner come by as well.
I usually don’t have breakfast, but I was told that I maybe should. Even at least an egg should do the trick, James said. So now, we’re consuming eggs at an incredible pace.
Just this past week, we’ve used up at least 20 eggs, I think. But Che also baked some cookies, so it’s not all just for breakfast.
I feel like it might get boring if I only eat eggs in the morning, so I wanted to mix it up with other food. Che bought avocados, and I got a few cans of tuna which I mixed up with a bunch of other ingredients so that it could be used for a sandwich spread. It worked well as a side as well.
I have never been a fruit person. If we had a full meal and there was a fruit platter for dessert, I would choose to eat more of the meats that we had. However, I could eat fruits if I chose to. It’s been an adjustment eating fruits and vegetables, for sure, but I’m really not opposed to it.
Removing rice from my diet has also been easy. I’ve done it before, but I guess I was too young then and still needed it to function properly. Now nearing 40, I think I can cut it out, including bread or other carbs.
I haven’t been counting calories yet, but I am mindful of what I eat. It’s been good that I have been able to control myself, especially from eating too much of Che’s baked cookies.
In other news, the Playstation is being played again. It’s been an expensive paperweight because I have tons of other stuff I do at home (like doomscrolling!) and Vino just usually plays on his tablet.
This month, Spiderman 2 came out as free on my subscription, so I started playing that using the PS5 and the Portal – another gadget that is severely underutilized. I only usually play NBA, but it’s a lot more work now, and the Portal can’t really keep up with the graphics.
I figured RPGs would be the way to go with the portal. I’ve been trying some titles, but this one is probably the best option.
Now that Vino saw what I’m playing, he asked if he could play as well. It’s nice that he enjoys playing it, but it’s a bit frustrating as well because he drops whatever games he’s playing the moment I pick up the controller for the PS5.
I can’t be mad, though. I’m happy that he’s playing as well, at least it takes him away from his tablet.
It’s been a day of full, but healthy meals. We had eggplant katsu for lunch, and lemon-butter seabass for dinner – dishes that I both only learned how to cook today.
I’m optimistic that I could learn more healthy dishes like these to maybe help us all eat clean, and these two are excellent start.
