It’s a family day this Sunday, as we planned on a full day out.
We purchased a season pass for Universal Studios back in August. We had intended to frequent it, but we didn’t really get a lot of chances to go. Additionally, the thought of the insane crowd we’d meet there would often discourage us from going.
Vino and I came by once already, Che has not. For the season pass, as long as you’re able to visit the park twice, you’ve already gotten your money’s worth. We were hoping to make Che’s first visit today.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. It was pouring by the time we reached the bus terminal, and we decided to eat at the hawker center there.
We thought about just heading back home, but we realized we didn’t have an umbrella and the rain was still hard. We decided to go to Vivo instead for some dessert.
Since the rain hasn’t stopped, I thought about walking around for some window shopping. Che was looking for something too, so it all worked out.
We came around to Best Denki, an electronic and appliance shop. I enjoy going around looking at new gadgets, but I don’t necessarily look for something to buy.
On this day, though, there was an 11.11 and an anniversary sale. There was a host hyping it up through the speakers and the sales people were all talking about it. The discounts pile up, so there are items that could reach around 70% discount.
Che and I decided to look at something we’ve been eyeing for quite sometime – a Styler. Basically, LG made this slim cabinet where you can freshen your clothes similar to what a dry cleaner would do. It uses steam to clean and doesn’t use chemicals.
Over the years, we have accumulated quite a few garments that are quite sensitive, so we’ve been looking at purchasing a Styler once our budget allows.
The LG Styler’s price has gone down a lot, and since there are further discounts and an option for split payments, we seriously contemplated about it. However, the guy turned us to Samsung’s version of the Styler, which he said has more innovative features.
So LG came out with the product first, and Samsung soon followed. However, while LG decided to innovate on aesthetics, Samsung innovated on features. And it was about 400 dollars less than the LG because of all the compounded discounts.
It was a Christmas wish for me, at least, because it gives me a tool to take better care of our clothes.
To avail of more discounts, we needed to hit a certain amount, so we got a few more items for our loved ones back in the PH. I blame the rain for leading us to this path.
We went by the toy store for more window shopping, but Vino got something that he wanted to share with his friends, so we said that was fine.
We went home for a bit and planned to go to church before heading off to see Richard and his family.
Tin has taken a leap into her artistic career, and we came by to show support and catch up with them.
Richard is the only blood-related family member I have in Singapore. At one point, I had two other cousins and my sister here, but life had other plans for them. However, we rarely see each other because of distance and other life activities.
Milestone events like these rarely come by, so of course we were coming over.
We had a chance to make art together, which was a first for all of us. Vino has tried a couple of art classes, but this was the first where we are all doing it.
Little dude got a little competitive and critiqued my work, but I said I had a plan for it.
In the end, we saw the different visions we had for our artwork, which was practically the point of having a session like this.
After chatting for a few more minutes and sipping wine, we decided to go home as it was a school day next day. We planned on meeting again before we leave for the Philippines.
Vino fell asleep in the car as we went home, and he continued to sleep after I carried him all the way to the bed. Meanwhile, Che will go on a trip tomorrow, so she prepared her bag and we tried to envision where our new toy was going to be placed.
There were some late night re-arrangements of the furniture, but I think we’ll be ready for the delivery on Tuesday.
