It’s the last day of Vino’s school before the Lunar New Year break, and we were able to do some fun things.
Che got him a costume for when their school allows them to wear it. It was meant to be sleeveless, but he asked to wear a shirt underneath it.
He’s growing to have his own style, so he’s usually choosing what clothes he wants to wear and how he wants to wear them. Sometimes, he has his go-to things, which is a bit frustrating because he has a lot of clothes in his cabinet.
At home, I’m in day two of my exercises. I’m taking medication for my cholesterol now, and I need to take losing weight seriously as it’s tied to my overall health.
I tried to do bring down my weight after our last executive checkup, but I wasn’t able to sustain my efforts. At the worst of it, I breached the 90kg mark, but I was able to bring it down again to 88kgs. Still, it’s not good, and I think I’m feeling the effects of it.
We’re trying to adjust our diet slowly, and Che is very supportive in what we’ll be doing moving forward. Of course we want to grow old together and watch Vino grow into an adult, so we’re serious when it comes to health concerns.
After dinner at night, we had a bit of wine while watching “Can This Love Be Translated?” It’s our wind down for Che’s busy and tough week at work.
We don’t always talk about a lot of things during these moments, but sometimes, she just needs us to be there together. I’m always ready to listen when she needs me to, but oftentimes, she just asks for company.
Even if its a weekend, we try to keep Vino off his screen as early as we can. After he stopped playing, he asked to play Monopoly with us.
He’s grown tp love board games, so we have quite a bit of them in his room. But, he doesn’t play them much. Still, it’s a good option to have when we have visitors and for times like these.
It’s a good practice for math, and he was doing really well. From our parent-teacher conference the day before, Vino’s teacher raved about how he is in school. However, he said he could do even better if he slowed down a bit and didn’t rush things.
As we played, he did great at computing payments. At some point, Che and Vino traded, with Vino asking for Mayfair. Che asked for a property trade and 500, which I told Vino was unfair for him. He was so willing to part with the money because he had both the blue properties.
Later in the game, it paid off really well for him, as we both got bankrupt because of his hotels.
Vino appreciated the family time, and it got even better because he ended up dominating the game.
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and we have some plans that I hope they would enjoy.
