Vino’s class had a musical showcase this day, and Che and I went to watch with him.

There are a lot of things going on in Che’s office this week, so there aren’t much people coming in. At least the timing was just nice for her to at least move a few things around and watch the performance.

The kids were asked to come in their rockstar outfits or anything they wanted to wear. Of course, Vino chose his “aura” ensemble, which meant his favorite jacket, pants, and plain tee.

So for music class, they each get an instrument, and I’m not sure if he chose or was assigned to do the bass. He once told me that he didn’t see the point of the bass guitar because it sounded very unnecessary amidst all the sounds that were going on.

I understood, because back in high school, I also wondered what the fuss was about with the bass. I forgot how exactly, but I think my friend Gersh explained how crucial the bass is in a band setup. I think he made me listen to music without the bass, and how it sounded so lifeless.

Anyway, he stuck to it, and here we are.

There were three other performances before their class, and the first two classes had multiple people per instrument. I was surprised that Vino was alone at bass, because I remembered him telling me there was another person doing it with him.

He said he tried not to smile while he was on stage, maybe to stay in character. He played maybe a couple of notes on repeat, but he was into it, and he was proud of it – which is all I could ask for.

Che went straight to the office after, so I joined her in the cab and decided to go to the supermarket. I wanted to eat at a newly-opened Korean restaurant in Vivo, Seoul Noodle House. I saw this in a far away mall, which I wanted to visit at some point because they had the pork bone soup that I always look for.

However, as has been the theme for the week, there were practically no people in her office. So we decided to go on a quick lunch date.

I went home to put the stuff I bought in the freezer as needed, then went to pick up Vino. The weather was fine, until it wasn’t. We were still okay, but I fell asleep in the bus, and we missed our stop. Because of this, we experienced the heavy rain.

By the time we got home, the rain wasn’t so bad anymore, so I asked Vino to use the umbrella while I ran.

At home, I started prepping for dinner. We’ve had meat through this whole week, so I thought fish would be a good option. I got salmon and put miso glaze on it.

It’s a relatively easy recipe I found after we tried it at a restaurant. The basting sauce is a matter of mixing the ingredients, so I guess the most difficult part of the cook is the timing of the fish in the oven.

For this version, I guess I overcooked it a bit. I thought I needed to put it in the oven for 20 minutes, but the recipe I made before was just 10 minutes.

At least the flavors were enjoyable, so both Che and Vino ate well. I also cooked a side of kailan with ginger and garlic in oyster sauce for greens.

Before sleeping, Vino watched Beast Games season 2, but we had to tell him to sleep already as it was already 10pm. Meanwhile, Che and I watched the last two available episodes of Single’s Inferno.

It’s frustrating that we watched it already when we have a lot of other K-Dramas that we should be watching. I actually just put it on the background one time, thinking Che wouldn’t be interested. Apparently, we were both hit by a lot of content about this season, so she also actually wanted to watch it.

Anyway, we’ll have to wait until next week to see how this all ends. For now, we sleep as we welcome the weekend tomorrow.
