We spent most of Sunday outside catching up with friends and running a couple of errands.
The day started early with Vino getting up at around 7:30am. Whether we like it or not, we had to get up as well. There were plenty of dishes that still needed to be washed, so I got on that first.
We had delivery food for breakfast, and Che went out shortly after for two appointments for personal care.
We were going to meet Steph and James for lunch, as it was the latter’s birthday just a couple of days before. We had oysters, and then some.
Steph, Che, and I have had our share of oyster dates before COVID, which was also the pre-James era. We usually ate to the point that we had to Google how much is too much in one sitting.
The answer was vague, but I think we could eat a dozen each when we got together – especially if the oysters were on sale.
Now, James is part of this oyster craziness. They actually eat at nice places when they go on dates, and we’d sometimes go on double dates (with Vino in tow) to try out either new and interesting places, or restaurants that are good enough to come back to.
On this day, we went to Humpback at Bukit Pasoh, near Outram Park.
Vino and I took the cab, but for some reason, Google had us travel all the way to Clark Quay to make the turn heading into Bukit Pasoh. It was about 10 minutes too much than what it should be, I think.
Che met us at the venue, and we ordered some of our favorites. Vino even had an off-menu carbonara instead of the Cacio e Pepe that was available because the server heard Vino’s request.
After about a two dozen oysters, we moved to a different shop for some coffee. While looking for a shop, we found an interesting photo spot where Vino gamely posed with me.
We had some coffee at Populous before parting ways to do our own things.
Vino fell asleep in the bus, so I had to carry him a bit around the mall as we bought some gifts.
When he woke up, we had an afternoon snack and walked around a bit before going home. We lounged at home until it was time to sleep.
The Manipulated was a nice series to watch, but it was a bit too stressful for us. Because of this, we’re watching something that doesn’t require a lot of thinking in the eXchange.
These are days that I feel there was a lot that happened, but I wasn’t able to capture it in photos. With just over a hundred days left in this blog, it’s been a learning process in how difficult it is to make content and what it takes to really produce quality ones.
Days like these when there’s not much to say become tough challenges, but somehow, I get to produce something. It’ll be good to learn how to be better at this over the next few months so that I can utilize this website better at the start of my 40s.
