After practically three weeks away from home, we’re back to our old routines.
Vino hasn’t been able to attend school for the past week, and while it was a bit of a struggle to wake him up, I could feel that he’s a bit excited to be going back to school to see his friends.
Meanwhile, Che will have to deal with all the backlogs from the past couple of weeks, so she’ll be heading to the office early as well.
We headed out first as Che prepared to go out. Both of us fell asleep in the car, but Vino was quick to wake up and was eager to go in by himself.
I went home to deal with some laundry and housekeeping things. No, I haven’t unpacked the bags yet – it will have its time. I feel like I could have done more, but it was productive, at least.
Looking back at the past vacation, it was pretty fun going with everyone, but I think the best parts were when everyone got to do what they wanted. While I appreciate having a big group together in a different setting, it’s difficult to manage when you’re going to multiple locations.
I think the girls’ trip back in April looked fun because they had similar interests. For this trip, I feel like there was a bit of struggle on the pace of things – the kids kept running around, the first-timers tend to be in awe of the new experiences, while the vets are either looking to maximize the sightseeing time or just chilling.
The kids were having a lot of fun together, but they couldn’t always do it in some of the places we visited. They were having a blast in the room, but sometimes it got out of control.
The adults had a lot of sessions, and I wasn’t able to join a lot of them either by circumstance or by choice. However, it was good for my mornings as a morning person because I didn’t have to deal with hangovers. Even that one night we had a lot wasn’t so bad for me in the morning.
When Che and I first traveled together, we agreed that it would be better to travel with friends instead of just the two of us. With this three-leg vacation, I realized that even just the three of us could have an awesome time anywhere.
Now that we’re back in SG, I decided to go for a local favorite of mine whenever I feel like I’m bloated – prata and milo.
I love this combination, but my stomach does not. It causes me to go to the toilet at least three times after I eat this. But after going that many times, I feel lighter.
Vino and I went home, where I continued to clean up and prepare dinner for us. After days of ordering in or eating out, this was the first time we’d actually get to eat a home-cooked meal.
The first choice was easy, it was going to be adobo.
This is Vino’s favorite by far, and he eats best when this is served. While there is no right or wrong way to cook adobo, I feel like he could be the closest thing to a “good” or “bad” adobo detector.
I’ve seen him eat a lot of this, but when he doesn’t, it probably means it’s not that good. I’ll test this theory out when we head back to the PH.
After dinner, Che packed Vino’s bag for the Malaysia trip. We wanted to make sure that he had everything in the packing list, so it was best to pack it up tonight and see if we missed out on anything.
We snuck in a couple of episodes of the K-Drama we’re watching now before calling it a night. Until the end of the day, it really feels like we are back home.
