You’d think that the cover photo is from breakfast, but it’s actually dinner.

The sky was clear for the first time in days, and we even saw a glimpse of the sun. Since I got up a bit earlier, I decided to order a Jollibee breakfast, which Che has been wanting to order since we got here. I also got Peach Mango Pie, which Vino has also grown to enjoy.

It took about an hour before she ate hers, and it was practically lunch for Vino. At least while Vino was sleeping, we were able to finish the K-Drama series S-Line. It was a bit trending on social media so we got curious what it was about.

It had an interesting idea of a person seeing red lines connecting people who have had intimate relationships with each other. However, we had no idea what the point was and where it was going, and by the finale, it appeared that the creators also didn’t know.

I probably won’t recommend people to watch it, no matter how curious you get about the lines people draw on pictures. It’s a line, that’s it. The series will not give clarity on the things you’re probably curious about.

For lunch, we ordered Tim Ho Wan because Che wanted something soupy, and the Chinese Hot and Sour Soup was one of the things she thought about. Unfortunately, Tim Ho Wan didn’t have the same menu they had in SG.

When the order arrived, I felt that they also don’t have the same recipes. The steamed beancurd skin roll was mostly beancurd, the machang was huge and mostly rice, and the pork bun was not as flaky as in SG.

Che craved soup because she didn’t feel well. We were supposed to go out to hear mass in Church, but she decided it would be best for her to just rest first, hoping to avoid illness for the upcoming week.

With Che in bed and Vino playing, I set off alone to the supermarket and the drugstore to get some supplies. It was a chance for me to catch up on podcast episodes I have been neglecting since we went back to the PH.

On a normal day, I’d be home alone or riding the bus or train listening to podcasts. During this school break, I’m almost never alone because Vino and I are together practically 24/7.

Once I got back, I felt like it would be another wasted opportunity in the PH if we were to be stuck at home again during the weekend. I was checking out comedy shows available and thinking I could maybe go alone.

When we were talking about this month-long trip, I planned on meeting a lot of people, visiting a lot of places, and at least going to one stand-up comedy show. So far, I’ve seen the people I needed to see, but there’s still a lot more I want to meet, eat, and maybe cook with. We haven’t seen places, but haven’t really gone around much.

However, my family always comes first. At the end of the day, we’re here because we want to support Che in a challenging time in her professional career. We can’t help her do what she does, but we can be present when she needs someone to lean on after a hard day at work.

I hinted about a comedy show recording but didn’t get a response, so I just brushed it off myself. After all, she would need to take care of Vino alone if I left, which would defeat the purpose of her day of rest.

Ultimately, we had dinner at home, and yes, what they wore in the morning were the only clothes they had through the day.

Che cooked the smoked fish Christian gave us, while Vino had noodles he didn’t eat for lunch. This is Che’s comfort food – smoked fish, tomatos on the side, and some vinegar for dipping. You know it’s game on for her when she eats while resting her arm on one of her knees.

It was one of the most satisfying meals we’ve had, which is saying a lot because we’ve had a lot of good food.

After dinner, I played Roblox with Vino while Neo was on Discord with us. It was a school holiday next day owing to the State of the Nation address by the president, so we played with Neo until late. Che slept long before we were done.

Kali asked if I would welcome Neo to our home if he woke up at 6am to go to the office with him, but I’m not optimistic that the boys will get up in time considering the energy we had at 1am.
