We got visitors to end the week!
This week was supposed to be the first week of school for most of the kids, but the string of rainy days prevented classes from happening.
As such, I’ve been bugging my friend Kali to just bring the kids over to our house so that Vino has someone to play with. With it being Friday and all, we finally made it happen.
I waited for Vino to wake up before I prepared breakfast for him. It was a pancit day as I had instant Korean ramen while Vino got Pancit Canton, both with Spam on the side.
Yes, it’s probably unhealthy, but how can you not enjoy this bowl?
Later, Vino and I got drinks and snacks from the supermarket for our visitors. We stopped over at Shake Shack for a late lunch because Vino might get hungry.
Kali has two kids, Inno and Neo, the latter of which is close to Vino’s age, so they kind of enjoy the same things. Inno, still kinda a kid but a bit older than the two, still has similar interests, but likes to keep to himself most of the time.
However, I’m happy that he was a kuya to the boys and actually played with them.
Christian arrived shortly after the food deliveries came, so we started drinks a bit early. If there are no glaring issues, we usually talk about random stuff that happened in our lives recently.
We talked and drank while the kids played. Arianne arrived with some sushi bake, and a while later, I picked Che up from downstairs.
I played Roblox with the kids while Che ordered some hotpot for the rainy day. When it arrived, Christian took the lead in preparing the soup.
I guess Christian may have been tired from training, as the alcohol hit him earlier than any of us. That didn’t stop him from going to Velada to meet with some visitors. He took a Grab and sent pictures to update us about the event he went to.
Meanwhile, Che, Arianne, Kali, and I continued to drink and watch a Korean movie on Netflix, Wall to Wall.
In our last visit to the PH, we were with them most of the time, but we haven’t really met up a lot during this longer trip. We spent more time with Che’s sisters because for the first time in a long while, they were all together.
At a certain life stage, we don’t get to meet all our friends anymore. It’s nice that we still get to come together from time to time, but since we’ve been away for quite a while, I understand that we’re not exactly a priority for some friends. After all, they’ve been going through life without us, so it wouldn’t make a difference if we didn’t see each other.
I never take it against anyone, and I always appreciate the little time we get to spend with people we want to catch up with.
Vino’s birthday is a chance for us to spend time with some of them even for a brief moment, so it’s not only Vino who enjoys the big crowd at his brithdays.
We’ve been here for almost a month now, and it feels like we haven’t really done much. We planned to meet so many people and do so many things, but Che’s been busy at work. I don’t want to do things without her because at the end of the day, we’re here because I want her to feel home after work.
So while we haven’t really done much of the plans we set out to do when we were plotting this trip in the calendar, I believe we’re still doing what we need to be doing here.
We still have a bit more time here in the PH, so hopefully we get to catch up with more of our friends soon.
