We’re back to reality, somewhat, as we’re finally back home, but Vino still has one week of vacation.
Of course, the first obstacle of going back after a holiday is the laundry. While we did have a washing machine in a couple of places, it wasn’t enough to clear out all the clothes that we wore because we needed at least a couple of layers for the weather in Korea.
Che was back to work, doing laundry of her own. “Labada” or laundry is a term that they’ve used to refer to unfinished work. Like our clothes, it has piled up for her because she makes it a point to avoid working when she’s on a holiday.
Since I had to deal with a huge load of clothes, I wanted to split it into things I would wash at the laundromat downstairs and things I would wash at home. The laundromat pile would have clothes that can be thrown into the dryer, while the other stack needs to be air-dried, so I’d be washing it here.
Ultimately, I decided on just washing them all at home.
To make it feel like I accomplished things this day, I aimed to clear out all the bags, which I’m proud to have done.
While clearing things, I also did another thing that I’ve been putting off for a while – getting my bike serviced.
We bought folding bikes before we left for Vietnam. We purged a lot of items when we moved, and Che decided to sell off hers. For mine, I wanted to keep it in storage so that I could use it when we’re back.
July marks our second year back here in SG, and my bike has remained in storage. I saw an ad online for Bike Hero, which offers home-servicing of bikes. I finally took out the bike from storage to give the company an idea of its condition.
For food, we finished the rice stock we had before we left, so we didn’t have any to cook. Instead, we reverted to delivery food for the lunch and dinner. Vino got to pick A&W for lunch, and later decided on 4Fingers for dinner.
He finished season 3 of One Piece, but he stopped because he said he takes a photo of himself with Che every season that he finishes. While waiting, he wanted to start Jujutsu Kaisen.
I watch anime, but I honestly haven’t watched these new ones. Heck, I didn’t watch One Piece because it was too damn long already. I think Vino plays a Roblox game that has Jujutsu Kaisen, so he got interested to watch the series.
The vacation was fun, and I’m happy that we made new memories. We’re also looking forward to exploring more things there in the future. But now that we’re back, it’s nice to see Vino getting comfortable and knowing how to move and help out a bit when needed.
