We had a free and easy Easter Sunday with just the three of us going around with no set plans.

I planned on alternating workout days, so this was a rest day for me, which meant I could sleep in. I thought we could still have some breakfast, but both Che and Vino decided to move a little past 10am already, so we just ordered in.

Che’s phone is dangerously close to giving up, so we’ve talked about getting a new phone. Comparing prices in Singapore and Korea, it’s about 300SGD cheaper if we bought it here with tax refunds and the strength of the Singapore Dollar these days.

We went to IFC Mall, which had an Apple Store, so that we could try our luck getting a unit there. Unfortunately, as we were told by the other branch we visited, there are no units available, and we should just order it online.

It was a pain buying it online, as Che had several issues trying to get one. I’m sure there’s a demand for it, but I can’t help but think that there’s also a layer of making it difficult to buy to make it feel more “exclusive” here in Korea – Samsung country.

We went around another mall and got some late lunch. Vino wanted burgers, but we saw that they had a branch of Pink’s Hotdogs, his favorite hotdog place in the Philippines. Of course, we had to get some.

We went back to the hotel for a bit to get some rest and to fix our bags. We’re headed to Jeju tomorrow, and we’re checking in to a different hotel when we return to Seoul. We planned on leaving some of our bags there so that we’re not carrying a lot of things in Jeju.

After Che re-arranged the bags, we left to drop it off. Since it was Easter, we wanted to pass by a Church, since we weren’t able to attend the English mass at 9am.

I found one near the Hongdae area, which was pretty close to where we were. We got on a bus and walked to the church.

Funny thing was that Vino suddenly requested to buy the fish-shaped bread from a street vendor. The ahjumma only accepted cash, which we didn’t have. Normally, we’d just shut him down to tell him that we don’t have money. However, Che said I should just draw some cash.

We got it, and he enjoyed it well. When we got on the bus, my card didn’t work. However, since I had cash, I was able to pay for my fare.

It’s just one of those things that I always attribute to Divine intervention. Sometimes, we just do things that don’t make sense because there might be a good reason for us to do it, we just don’t know what it is just yet.

There was a Korean mass going on, so we stayed for a short prayer and walked around the area.

We had dinner at BHC Chicken, which we enjoyed the last time we were here. The chicken had a bit of spice, though, which I don’t remember it to have last time. Vino wasn’t able to eat much because of it. Even the rice had a hint of spice.

We walked around Hongdae before heading home. There were still a lot of people walking around, but it’s not as crowded as the sakura blossoms crowd. While Hongdae is fun, I don’t think there’s a lot of shops that would cater to Vino’s interests, so we decided to call it an early night so that we could have an early start for our flight tomorrow.

It was a good decision as well, because it rained heavily after we were home.

With two instances of random unplanned things happening, it truly felt like the Lord is alive again and watching over us.
