This active lifestyle has allowed me to explore our neighborhoods again, and I wanted to check out a new route this day.
Last time I went to Kent Ridge Park, I saw that there was a path heading to Clementi Woods Park. It’s near West Coast, and the last time I saw it, I was already about 40 minutes into my walk, so I decided to do it another day.
Vino went to school this day, because they had a trip to the Singapore Science Center. We didn’t want him to miss out on the experience with his friends, so we told him to just be careful with his foot.
Since he was not at home, I took it as a chance to walk and run.
I checked out the unfamiliar path, and it led me to the campus of NUH. It felt a bit like UP because it has its own neighborhood inside. The residences looked nice, but I think it’s a bit difficult to navigate on weekends as the buses might not be operating.
If they aren’t, it’s going to be a long walk out to the main roads.
I ended up on Clementi Road. It was then that I realized that if I had checked out the map more carefully, I would have seen that there was a shorter route from Vino’s school.
Still, it was a good walk through a new path, so there’s that.
As I walked towards the supposed entrance to the park, I saw there was some construction going on. I hoped that it’s not closed, but it was. I found a different entrance, but parts of the park were still closed.
It’s inconvenient, but I appreciate that this government is doing steps to rehabilitate these parks. The mountainside near our house has been closed since last year, which closed a direct path from Alexandra to our house, but I can see that they’re making sure that it’s safe.
Anyway, seeing that the park was closed, I decided to just run along the road near West Coast Park. With a lot of people also walking and running, nearby, it was normal to just run along the sidewalks.
I ended the run across West Coast Park and took the bus home. I tried to check my weight and saw that I hit 83kgs again.
I’m almost on day 30 since I went to the doctor. I know this because the medicine he gave me was 30 pieces, and I only have two tablets left. When I started, I weighed around 88 to 91kgs.
Reaching this weight took me about a couple of months in the gym before COVID, and I was at 86 kilos then. I believe the discipline on eating helped me a lot.
I think my weight loss will slow down at this point, because I feel like those unwanted fats were the ones that got burned first. It’ll only get harder from now on, so I hope these past few months have helped me form habits that I won’t be breaking in the future.
It’s been one month, sure, but I’m happy with the results. Now, to just keep it up and reach my pre-wedding weight before I finish this series of blogs.
