It’s a short Sunday because a stupid hangover plastered me on the bed and sofa for most of the morning.
If anything, I have already learned that putting ice on my whiskey instead of drinking it neat helps me not be super drunk. Next, mixing drinks together will always lead to being drunk or a massive hangover the next day.
While I was able to follow the first lesson, the second lesson was not.
It was almost 1PM when I was able to be a bit functional, and we decided to go out for lunch. The plan was to eat, drop by a couple of shops for an errand, then later go to church.
While waiting for our ride, Che was talking to Vino about going to multiple birthday parties where parents were not around. As we were discussing this, I looked at my calendar and found out that Vino had a party at 3PM.
It was going to be a “messy party” and we were asked to bring extra clothes and a bottle of water. Che and I had to talk about how we were going to strategize doing what we needed to do.

Ultimately, we decided to just buy a change of clothes for Vino instead of going back home and taking him to the party.
The place was like an outdoor playground in the forest. There was a small contraption where kids can dump water on a slide. There’s a trampoline and a sand pit as well, and a lot of other things along the way.
Classmate’s dad told me I can stay around or hang out somewhere outside. Che was waiting so I said we’ll just be around the cafe.
We thought we could stay while waiting for Vino, but Che had a headache so we had to go home for a bit.
After I picked up Vino from the place, he got Che to get up to play ping pong with him.
We got this small net from way back in the pandemic, I think. We haven’t used it a lot, but recently, Vino enjoyed playing ping pong so we dug it out from our stash.
Vino doesn’t like losing, so he didn’t want scoring when they played. Che suggested that they do the ABC’s while returning the ball, which Vino initially didn’t want because he feared that they might fail to go all the way to Z.
Che assured him that it’s just a game and that it’s an exercise that could help him improve.
It took a few tries, but they reached Z at least once.

We’ve been eating out a lot since Che came back, so for dinner, we decided to cook food from the fridge.
We still had some fish, so we had that.
Che loves a lot of food, but if there’s one dish that will unlock the one-leg raise, it’s got to be Daing na Bangus. The ultimate combo would be that with fish sauce as her dip and tomato and salted egg on the side.
Spoon and fork are not needed when this is served.
Growing up, I also sometimes eat with one of my legs raised, but there’s no specific food for it, just more of a comfort thing.
As Che was eating, she noticed that Vino’s leg was also up. There’s no doubt whose blood flows in this kid.
Back home, I had to transcribe the transcript of my interview. AI is helping me out in cleaning it, but the context still needs to be cleaned manually.
As a writer, I’m still not a fan of AI, but on proper settings and uses, it could help greatly.
I have a basketball game in the evening, so I prepared adobo for Vino by lunchtime so that I only need to heat it up for dinner.
