It’s been a while since we went to Church, as we’ve had a lot of things going on the past several Sundays.

We usually hear mass at St. Bernadette, but this week, we opted to go to St. Theresa. Father Romeo was the attending priest, which was a pleasant surprise for us.

Most of the homilies that we’ve heard have been political, talking about both local and international issues. I appreciate that some celebrants want to be current, but I don’t appreciate when they press their views a bit too aggressively.

It’s difficult to get Vino to listen, especially when there’s an air of arrogance or anger from the priest. Father Romeo’s homily was none of these, but the acoustics of the church made it difficult to digest.

During the church announcements, we learned that Ash Wednesday is looming. Che insisted that we should abstain from pork during lent, which I think might be difficult, but then I thought it wouldn’t be a sacrifice if it’s easy.

We stopped by Vivo before heading home. As usual, Vino wanted Ippudo for dinner, and I told Che that I had a frozen pack ready to go at home. We ordered bah kut teh for us before heading home.

After dinner, I felt a bit light-headed. I thought that it was because I kept waking up early throughout the week and didn’t really have a lot of time for naps. But just to be sure, I checked my blood pressure.

I know that my cholesterol levels are high. My siblings and I have compared notes about it, as we are all in the same boat. I’ve been mostly lethargic these past few weeks, and I haven’t exercised as much as I would want. It doesn’t help that I’ve been frequenting hawker food recently.

Upon checking my blood pressure, I saw that it was at 145/90, so I took a hot bath and relaxed a bit. I told Che about it, and she told me to eat oranges or something.

It went down to 124/80, so I’m not so alarmed by it. However, I do think that I should be working on drastic changes in the coming days and weeks. Needless to say, I should also see a doctor about it, especially if it continues.

For now, I’ll continue to observe and monitor, and hopefully it doesn’t get worse.
