It’s been quite hot this past week, so I guess rain was coming at some point.
The day started gloomy and dark, with dark clouds forming early in the morning. Che wasn’t feeling well, so she opted to work from home to not get other people sick and not get more sick herself.
She has a day full of meetings, and I usually try to get out of her way, especially during work hours. Instead, I faced off with my nemesis: the laundry.

Like I mentioned before, I never really washed my own clothes before coming to Singapore. Of course, I can’t exactly say that I do it now because all I do is throw clothes into the washing machine.
While that requires little to no effort, the real challenge comes when it’s time to put it back in the closet. The folding, the hanging, the sorting – these are the things that make it a chore.
What I do after taking the clothes out of the dryer is just dump them all on the extra bed. Then wait for another load so that I’ll fold them all at once.
This results in a mountain of clothes and a phenomenon I call “panty de peligro” which is basically like “petsa de peligro” – that awkward time when salary is coming, but the salary from the previous cutoff is almost gone. I guess you could guess why I named it as such.
It’s always a big win whenever I clear all that clutter off the extra bed.
If I were home alone, I wouldn’t bother thinking about lunch. But then I remembered Che was at home and she never really eats breakfast.
Because of her tight schedule, there wasn’t enough time to defrost something from the fridge, and we don’t know what time delivery would arrive. So I decided on instant Korean ramen.
It was rainy and she was still feeling a bit sick, so while it may be unhealthy, the weather called for it. I cut some ham, put in egg, and finished if off with some spring onions on top.
Later, I picked up Vino from school. I got the right timing to get to school at just the right moment, with maybe a variance of five minutes, depending on what time the other buses arrive.
Since Wednesday was football training day, he’s a bit tired when I picked him up and the weather didn’t help perk him up.
He fell asleep while we were on the bus, so there was no walk going back home. We even had to wait a bit for our next bus.
When we got home, Che was still feeling a bit under the weather and Vino was back to full energy. I got my fair share of sleep on the sofa because it’s just so hard to move this day.

We ended the day early by our standards. By 9:30PM, Che and Vino were both on the bed already, which they both needed.
Friday’s coming, and while it was only one day before, this felt like the hump day of the week. Glad that we got over it.
