I love plans being fluid because it gives us a chance to change up on the fly.
I was supposed to go with Che to the Philippine Embassy to request a document, but we had a cleaner coming over, so I had to go home right after sending Vino off to school.
It was a chance for me to have a slow morning where I didn’t really have to do anything much. I used the time to watch basketball for a change.
As much as I love basketball and having four active fantasy leagues, I don’t really watch too much of it now. The game has changed so much that it’s fast, but not always as beautiful as it was when I first fell in love with it.
There are still some dominant players who are amazing to watch, creative ones who make incredible passes, and athletes who make impossible plays. However, for the most part, the game is just a bunch of guys chucking up threes back and forth.
It’s nice to see if it’s all going in, like the time when Donovan Mitchell and Jamaal Murray went off against each other in the playoffs. On a regular game though, not a lot of those actually happen.
Vino had CCA this day as well, so I had extra time before picking him up. I wrote the blog and proceeded to Buona Vista. I’ve been getting hit by content creators making Budae Jjigae and Kimchi Jjiggae, so I got inspired to buy the ingredients I lacked.
I got myself a bite as I headed off to Vino’s school. When I got there, he said he was hungry, so we went to the hawker stall for some pau. He’s taken a liking to char siu pau, but it wasn’t available this day. He settled for a pork pau, which was a bit bigger, and had two of those.
During this time, Che was already home. It was a rainy day, so I hoped to buy ingredients for tinola. After we ate, Vino and I went to the supermarket to buy ingredients, but I didn’t see sayote, which made me think of another soup dish to cook.
Since I was already holding my Korean mart items, I decided to make my own army stew. I let Vino watch the video, and he helped me gather the other ingredients that we needed.
I carefully arranged the ingredients, as per the videos that I watched. It’s my first time doing this, but I still wanted to make it look pretty.
After I put water in, I realized I forgot to put the beans, noodles, and kimchi. I put them all in before the water boiled and let the soup reduce for a bit.
I appreciate recipes that produce a flavor that I expect. It was savory, spicy, but not insanely spicy that we couldn’t eat it. Che and I shared it while Vino had some of the meatballs that I prepared in the freezer.
Che and I watched a bit of our K-Drama but she couldn’t keep her eyes open long enough to finish the episode.
