I was going to draft the first of my four NBA fantasy drafts this day, but we had to get some things done in the morning.

Vino had a follow up appointment at the ENT. We first went for a consultation at the suggestion of our dentist. Vino tends to breathe through his mouth, which could affect the growth of his teeth and then some.

At the first consultation, we learned that he may have some difficulty breathing because of some enlarged walls in his nose, which could be signs of allergies or something more. We were given some allergy medicine to check if it improves.

After six weeks of medication, we determined that it did help him out. He’s snoring a lot less compared to before the consultation. There’s no particular cause for the allergies, but we’ll maybe just watch out and keep things cleaner than usual.

We traveled a bit far, so we decided to check out a nearby mall and have lunch there. Luckily, there was a branch of Yakiniku Like at Junction 8.

This is our go-to comfort barbecue restaurant, and it’s always crowded in Vivo. Here at Junction 8, it was a welcome surprise for us that there wasn’t such a long queue even if it was nearly lunchtime.

While eating, I was checking out what was happening at ONE. ther was an event going on, and Aung La N Sang, a former two-division world champion, was competing in his retirement fight. He was up against a hard-hitting former welterweight champion, and considering his recent slide, I thought it was a bad idea for him to fight him.

However, he showed incredible heart, as both men went at it in the middle of the ring like there’s no tomorrow. They traded blows and ultimately, Aung La took a TKO win. Inspiring stuff. Following his win, he laid his gloves in the middle of the ring to signify that it was indeed his final match.

We finished our meal and decided to explore the place. We saw a Uniqlo store and we thought we should find gloves for Vino for our upcoming trip to Korea. However, we ended up getting a lot more than just gloves.

Uniqlo is always a nice choice for wardrobe. So far, if I like a style, I tend to get all colors of it. I love their jogging pants and their wide pants, so I got several colors of those. Now they have wide shorts, which I got now. Che found some things she liked also, and we got Vino some pants.

Later, we went to Nitori just to check out things. We had no intentions of buying stuff, but we ended up getting a pillow, some plates, and random things we’re going to use for our house. Che went to another store to look for something, so Vino had time to be silly at the cinema.

What initially started off as a chance to take a long bus or train ride became a cab ride because of all the things we got. We took a bit of rest at home and I cooked dinner before heading off to the basketball guys.
We planned on doing a live draft where all of us got together. It was supposed to be a restaurant near our place, but some of the guys were gathering at the barbecue pits. I decided to come by to meet them.

I was greeted with a plate and a lot of food. I didn’t realize they were celebrating their championship win in the recent tournament where they beat our team to win the minor division. We’re all friends though, so they gave me food and booze and we all got to share stories.

I even got goodies from their sponsor. He was just giving away tons of sweets like we were kids, but no one was complaining because who says no to sweets?

About six of the 14 guys in the fantasy league were in attendance, so we decided we’ll do the draft there. After the draft, we packed up from the barbecue pits and headed off to an afterparty with a few of the guys at a house nearby. We had karaoke and alcohol until late. I said I was supposed to leave at 12, then it was 1am already. Before I knew it, it was already 2am.

There were a lot of food at the party and afterparty, but mostly snacks because it was more of a drinking session. Like any good drinking session, I capped it off with a quick snack.

Che even got up when she smelled it and had a sip of the soup. It was a pretty good session, I’d say, because for all the gin mixes and beers I drank, I was still pretty okay. I don’t get a lot of nights like these, so it was a nice experience for the weekend.
