It kinda felt like lockdown, but we were actually free to go anytime we wanted to.
Vino had an early game and we had to leave home by 7:20am if we wanted to make it to registration time. I decided to just wake him up to change clothes, but we’ll eat at the venue.
I got up to prepare, but I saw that it was raining hard outside. I figured it wasn’t going to stop, so I asked the admin if it would be possible for us to just go to the second game. Unfortunately, the admin told me that we need to be registered for the first game to be eligible for the second game.
Given this information, I decided we weren’t going anymore. Che got up and wondered why I wasn’t preparing anything yet, so I explained the situation.
We slept late the night before, so they both welcomed the fact that they could sleep in.
Interestingly, I got a message from admin that we could be eligible to play the 10am match if we could make it by 9:15am. This happened at 9:06am.
I was told by one of the parents that there was no such thing as needing to register for the first match to be eligible for the second match. I kind of understand that the admin doesn’t know everything, but the least they could do was ask people we don’t have access to.
When Che and Vino got up, we had breakfast before Vino ran off to call his friend and play while Che and I lounged on the sofa to watch a series. Che didn’t want to watch Head Over Heels on Prime Video alone because it dealt with ghosts.
By lunchtime, I said I wanted to cook grilled pork belly, adobong kangkong for veggies, and kimchi soup.
I wanted to do something dry as a main dish to complement the kangkong, so I got some salt and pepper to marinate the pork belly slices. The weather also called for the kimchi soup.
Unfortunately, I ran out of doenjang. I had some miso paste, which I thought should work, so I used that for my kimchi soup. By the time it was done, it tasted like kimchi miso soup. It was fine for me, but I guess Che prefers how I cooked it before.
As we were watching, Che said she planned to work for a bit. When the episode ended, Che clicked “next episode,” so I figured no work was going to be done on this day. I thought it was fine because the past three months have been the busiest she’s been, I feel like.
We had some snacks delivered as we continued to watch while Vino continued to play with his friends.
Che asked Vino if he wanted to go out for dinner, and naturally, he said no. He takes after his mom when it comes to choosing between staying in and going out.
By dinner, we ordered food just for Vino, while Che had salad. I just waited for leftovers because we really didn’t do a lot this day.
It was productive, in a way, because we finished both Head Over Heels and Beyond the Bar, and we all had a good rest.
