Started the week off with a half-day stroll with Che as she was heading back to Manila for the last stretch of her PH stint.

Vino requested specifically to be woken up by alarm, so I let Che negotiate the terms of waking up this morning. As expected, it took a while before he got going.

However, he was quick enough to finish everything on time, and we left and got a Grab booking around 8am.

It was Che’s first time to bring Vino to school this term, so we stayed on a bit so that she can see Vino go back down to play. With him being an only child, we usually worry about how he is in school.

However, after seeing Vino interact with friends on a daily basis, I’m fairly confident that he can hold his own and build his own circle of friends.

We left to go home to get Che’s things and get ready for her flight. We planned on getting a massage, but since it was random, we were just shooting our shot and hoping there were at least two slots open for walk-ins.

Unfortunately, the Funan branch we checked out did not have open slots for us. We decided to just go early to the airport for her 2:40pm flight.

After checking in, we walked around to eat lunch. During this time, we learned that her flight will now be flying at 4:20pm instead.

We made the most out of it and just walked around Jewel more. Around 2pm, we decided to go our separate ways so she can work and I had enough time to pick up Vino.

I planned on taking the train, but it will apparently take me one and a half hours to get there, so I decided to just take the cab.

Naturally, I arrived early for pickup. I got some popiah and iced lemon tea at the nearby hawker spot to kill some time and write the blog.

When I got to Vino, he still asked if he could play football. While I’m not one to keep him from doing outdoor activities, the sun was just too hot for me to let him play.

I can understand why he insists that it’s not a big deal, looking at it from a kid’s perspective. As an adult now, though, I just couldn’t let him play under that heat.

We went home instead, where we played 99 Nights in the Forest with Tia. There’s nothing much to accomplish in this game anymore, so I’m just looking to finish a couple of goals to get a badge.

Because of playing, it took me a while to make dinner for us. I was able to marinate the chicken early on, so at least that helped.

Mama Sita’s Inasal Marinade is awesome. I could make my own inasal marinade, but this one makes it easier, and I don’t have a lot to wash. I just put the chicken meat in, leave it until the flavors seep in, and then cook in the pan – I don’t even have to roast it on charcoal.

I mean, it could be better on charcoal, but this one makes for a nice, quick dinner.

We are now at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1 in our Infinity Saga journey. I realized there are a lot of schools of thought on how to watch it chronologically, but we’ve started with the Rotten Tomatoes one, so I’m following that.

Meanwhile, Che arrived in Manila at almost 9pm. Kaloi and Elle picked her up, but they can no longer reach their Jap restaurant reservation on time.

It had been a long day for Vino, so we prepared to go to bed. He was still wearing his glasses when he turned to the side and grabbed my arm.

When Che is away, this is always how he sleeps. Of course, when Che is here, he would roll around to try to find which side is more comfortable.

It’s going to be the final week when our bed is not complete, so I’m hoping Vino will be this cooperative through the week.
