Che is back home for the first time in over a month, but it will only be for the weekend.
Her flight leaves at 6:30am, so I only got updates on how she was when I woke up around that time. She said the airport was pretty busy since it was a long weekend in the Philippines, but as an OFW, she had a seamless immigration process.
Meanwhile, I prepped Vino’s things as we got ready for school. He was very cooperative and was mindful of our time. He had a hearty breakfast, but still had enough time to prep properly.
We left home before 8am and reached school at around 8:10am, which meant he had time to play more.
I went back home to clean up a bit for before Che arrived. During this time, we got an email alert about Vino visiting the clinic for some scratches on his knees and arm after he tripped while playing.
The report said he went back to class, so I guess it’s not that serious.
JM, one of my old college friends, called me up. He’s based in China now, after spending a few years in Thailand. We were not super close, but over the years, we’ve had a lot of similar experiences so we do keep in touch and learn from each other.
Of course, our talks aren’t always about life. There are random entertaining stories for us, and even some crazy business ideas that may or not happen in the future.
It’s sometimes surprising, but I always enjoy talking to people, so I welcome random calls like these, even if it takes more than an hour. Especially when Vino or Che are not at home.
Che landed around 10:30am, but she needed to be in her office for a meeting at 1:45pm. We decided it would be best to meet at Harbourfront and have lunch there and I’ll take home her luggages before picking up Vino from school.
We had Song Fa Bah Kut Teh because why not? Sure, it was a hot day, but it’s one of our best local comfort food.
We caught up a bit while eating – probably one of the longeest times we’ve been together over the past couple of months, save maybe for that one time we were able to have a date.
It’s been busy, but at least we’re seeing the end of the tunnel now before another new challenge. But since she will be in SG for her next role, at least I’ll be able to cook for her when her PH stint is done.
I went to pick up Vino and Che followed. When I got to Vino, he asked where mommy was, to which I told him that she’s coming.
After we got together, I called the uniform shop to check if they have stock of the uniform already. When they said they had limited stocks available, I said we will drop by in a few minutes.
We were only allowed to buy three, just to make sure that other people could avail of their own during this time. We went home afterwards to get some rest.
Che was awake since 3am, so we let her get some sleep before she went to an office gathering at night time.
Vino and I played 99 Nights in the Forest again, which burned my whole afternoon. I planned on ordering food for delivery, but I can’t do that while I’m playing on my phone. Tia called Vino during this time and they talked a bit while we were playing.
Che ordered food for us, and she arrived with us still playing. I told her we have not moved since she left.
Vino and I were close to 300 days but he said he was done playing, which was fine. We have proven we could do some speed runs in that game, so he doesn’t feel too bad when we stop playing.
We called it a night early. Vino gave up his glasses earlier than usual, while Che slept soon after. I guess both of them felt our bed was full again, so it was easier for them to sleep.
