It’s our first full day back in SG, doing just a little bit of everything that we usually do when we’re here.

We slept late, so it took a while to pry Vino out of bed again. From stories I’ve heard from other people, I feel like Vino wakes up relatively easier. He doesn’t really whine or bargain, even if I feel like sometimes he wants to.

It helps that he wakes up at around 7:20am instead of like 4am or something.

My combo is always music and a bit of tickles on his back. When I was younger, those piercing fingers on my back were the ones that got me up. I hated it, but I had to get up because of it or else it doesn’t stop.

Vino has expressed that he doesn’t like it as well, so I use it after I’ve exhausted all the means of waking him up.

I didn’t have time to prep something for his lunch as we arrived late, but good thing I had meatballs in the freezer that I made last week. It made morning preps quite easy.

We got ready and headed off to school. After I dropped him off, I thought I’d stop by the uniform shop.

As previously mentioned, we donated Vino’s uniform tops at the last day of school last term, and now I’m left with second-hand and borrowed shirts. The school said the shop would have limited stocks soon, but can’t commit on a date.

The uniform shop opens at 10:30am, so I had about 2 hours still to burn. I decided to walk to Holland Village instead of riding a bus to contribute to the time-burning goal.

It’s not that long of a walk – GoogleMaps says its about 2.7 kilometers.

Singapore is a nice place to walk. Sometimes, even if you don’t want to, you get to walk a few kilometers without noticing. I once got told off by my sister for letting my parents walk towards train and bus stations instead of letting them ride the cab. I thought they’d appreciate how I’d go around on a normal day, but they only got really tired.

When we stayed in Vietnam, I walked even more. It was a good way to see the small streets and check out menus.

I want to get back to walking again. It’s a nice way to catch up on podcasts and sometimes just catch my thoughts.

Once I reached Holland Village, I checked out the laksa store I wasn’t able to try last time around.

The store sells Nasi Lemak – from my understanding, it’s like a packed lunch. It’s similar to Binalot in the PH, only with different components. I’m not very fond of it, but it’s a good economical food choice.
When I checked out their store last time, they said laksa is only available at 9:30am. Because of my walk, I reached at around this time, so they served me one.

There were a lot of tables in the hawker center, but I somehow wanted to sit by where I could see the road even if it was a bit hot.

I watched Running Man while eating and waiting for the store to open.

Later, I was told that I should call this coming Thursday or next Thursday to check if stocks have arrived. Hopefully, it comes soon, because I’m really not happy with my second-hand hauls.

I dropped by the supermarket to buy a couple of things and beef for our dinner – which would also be Vino’s lunch next day. I thought about just staying around the area and going back to Vino’s school, but I wasn’t able to bring my laptop and it was going to take a while still.

Instead, I took the train and went home. It was a good thing too, because it suddenly poured heavily. I got the chance to take an umbrella and change into slippers.

Sometimes, I follow these thoughts that don’t seem to make sense because I believe it came to mind for a reason. It’s something that I began to believe even further after reading The Valkyries by Paulo Coelho.

I’m not a big reader, but when I start something, I tend to finish it, and I’m very much influenced by it. Basically, the book is about him looking for guardian angels, and during his journey, he learned that angels work with people to help you.

I guess, it was my angel whispering to my mind that I had to go home before picking up Vino.

At least we had an umbrella on our way back.

Vino asked to play 99 Nights in the Forest again. It’s a long game if we’re good, and I knew I couldn’t get anything done if we played it. However, I thought if I chose to do housekeeping instead of playing with him, then why did I even quit my job?

So we played. We were playing a good game, but for some reason, we both got careless around Day 84. The timing was just right, as I needed to prepare for dinner and clean up a bit.

After dinner, we played a bit of Brawl Stars before I went to wash the dishes and take a bath. We had a bit of time, so we were able to finish Iron Man 3.

He asked to play again before we slept, and I had to cut it out so he could finally sleep. We told Che that we were off to bed already.

She immediately noticed that the photo is of him fake sleeping. However, it didn’t take more than five minutes before he actually fell asleep. My guy was tired.

I thought about shooting hoops next day, but I remembered I haven’t unpacked yet. Che arrives on Thursday morning, so I have to make sure that the house isn’t the mess that it is right now.
