Vino’s class had a performance this day, which was definitely the highlight of our day.

He was set to play the gamer kid from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so I prepared a set of clothes for him the day before. When he was dressing up, he requested to wear something else.

This is the problem with him having his own style, but not yet a loud enough voice – he didn’t tell me that he wanted to choose his own style. We took a bit longer to dress up because he looked for clothes in his closet.

While on the way to school, we looked up what the family of the gamer kid looked like. I asked him if he’d like to see me wearing the nerdy dad’s outfit to match his costume. He didn’t know what to say, really, but I knew I was going to do it.

When I got home, I accompanied Che to the doctor for an interpretation of her medical report. It wasn’t as bad as what we thought, which is another reminder of why we should leave the interpretations to professionals.

We walked over to a nearby dimsum place we’ve been meaning to try.

At least before we renewed the lease to our house, we were able to finally eat at the place.

We went to Vino’s class assembly shortly after. I put up my nerdy outfit, and Che was just laughing at the ridiculousness of my idea and why I’m actually doing it. No one would really care, I feel like, but Vino and I talked about it, so I decided to go for it.

Ultimately, Che decided to wear the mom’s costume, maybe just so I wouldn’t look as ridiculous when I’m with her.

Vino said he had about four speaking lines and was confident he’d be able to pull it off with no issues.

And he actually did.

I think he’s gotten better in putting emotions to his roles. When he had performances like these before, he would just read his lines in a robotic way. But today, he played his role well and even got a reaction from the crowd after he threw out one of the things he was tasked to throw.

We congratulated him on a job well done for the show and left for a bit, since there’s still about two hours before we could pick him up.

Che and I decided to get a massage nearby to spend the time. Afterwards, I picked up Vino while Che went back home.

Vino had football training after, so we had some food at the hawker before heading off to training. As per usual, I was able to run while he trained.

Che went out to meet some friends, so it was just Vino and me at home after training. I cleaned up the kitchen before going to bed with Vino. It was kinda late, so when I got to bed, he snuggled up as we watched TV.

It didn’t take long before he slept, and he found a peaceful position where he wasn’t snoring at all for a long time.

I’m not sure when I’ll be ready for him sleeping on his own bed. Sure, it would be nice to sleep with Che beside me, but I’ve gotten so used to Vino sleeping beside me that I feel like I’d have a hard time sleeping if he’s not in the same bed as us.

For now, I’ll just enjoy this experience for as long as it lasts.
