On this day, Che decided to work from home, so we got to spend a bit of time while she wasn’t busy.
After I took Vino to school, I crashed on the bed for a bit while Che had her coffee. When I woke up, she said she made some tea.
I’ve been pretty healthy, but this week I just had some cough and cold. It hasn’t bothered me, other than the fact that there always seems to be some pressure in one of my ears and my nose is blocked. She made ginger and orange tea to maybe help with it a bit.
When she didn’t have meetings, we would be watching Single’s Inferno. While we watch Korean dramas on a regular basis, some trashy reality shows like these are also enjoyable for us from time to time. It’s like unscripted fun, and everything is always unpredictable.
We are also clearing up some of our space. We’ve posted quite a few of Vino’s toys in Carousell, and since they are in really good condition, I have a guy who messaged as a return client. He bought one set and I guess his kid liked it so much that he decided to get two of our biggest ones.
Usually, I’d have no issues meeting up with the person, but that would really defeat the purpose of selling it for cheap. So instead, we tried to lookf or a box that would fit all the pieces.
The problem was dismanling the thing. When we stored it before, I didn’t bother to dismantle some parts for fear of breaking it. This time though, it was necessary so that it could fit in the box.
Unfortunately, my fear turned to reality as I broke one of the hinges.
I think it still holds though. Structurallly, it should still work once it’s assembled because the pillars are supported by about three other things.
I added some cars because he said he had knockoffs, and threw in a couple of duplicate monster trucks.
Che and I had takeaway food from the hawker stall downstairs. After eating, I went to pick up Vino from school.
I wanted to cook some chicken for dinner, but I wanted to buy some veggies. I asked Vino to walk with me to the grocery store. After getting my stuff, he said he’d rather walk than wait for the bus.
He said he was pretty tired, but I’m happy that he also enjoys walking from time to time. We passed by the playground and he asked to go through the obstacle course for a bit.
When we went back upstairs, I locked myself in the kitchen while Vino and Che were in the living room. She asked Vino to do his math practice while she cleaned up a bit outside.
For me, I washed the dishes I neglected earlier in the day and prepared dinner. I wanted to cook fried chicken for them. I marinated the chicken and cleaned while waiting for the flavors to seep in.
Later, I made my own coating mixture using the stuff I had in the pantry.
I think it turned out pretty well. I cooked a whole chicken, but it was cut to pieces already. Bright side is that I don’t have to cut it, but the downside is that they usually remove a lot of the skin for these packs.
I also cooked some veggies on the side. Che said the chicken might be a bit too much for just the three of us, but by the end of it, there were only four pieces left, with Vino eating a lot of it.
It’s going to be his lunch for tomorrow, so hopefully, he enjoys it as much as he did tonight.
We went to the room and got ready for bed. Despite Vino trying some silly antics before sleeping, he still ended up falling asleep around 10pm. For us, the cliffhanger endings led us to watch Single’s Inferno until almost 2am.
There’s only two episodes left before the final 2 drop on Feb 10, so at least we’ll have a lot more sleep tomorrow.
