It’s the weekend, and we spent most of the day out for some activities.
As per usual, I didn’t set my alarm for the morning, but decided to play basketball if I got up early enough. I woke up a bit around maybe 6am and could hear the rain, so I knew that the games weren’t going to be early.
I got up about 7:45am and saw in the group chat that the game was going to be moved to the covered court at 8am. It’s closer to our house, so I decided to head over there.
Unfortunately, there weren’t a lot of us who turned up. The other court was more accessible to the others, and they didn’t really like playing in the covered court because it’s a bit higher than the standard. Personally, it’s the first court I played in, so I’m comfortable playing here.
We didn’t get to complete our lineup, but there were locals who played here in the morning. We decided to play with them, and they were up for it.
We had our five, and they had theirs, but I’m not really too familiar with how the guys played, and they didn’t look like they knew how to play with me. If they did, they would know that even with their eyes closed, they can throw it to the elbow three, and I’ll be there.
Too many times, they got trapped after driving the ball, not knowing where the other guys were. We played two games against different people, and I thought that was enough gaming for me as I headed home.
Che ordered some McDonald’s for breakfast, and we had a slow morning after eating. We got tickets to watch Wicked in the cinema later in the afternoon.
We loved the first movie, so we wanted to have closure to the story that we watched. I feel like the first movie had catchier songs, but this one had more of the story. I think it was interesting how they tied it up with the story of The Wizard of Oz, a story which apparently Che doesn’t know about.
After watching the movie, we strolled around Vivo for a bit, and thought about oysters.
Last week, we went to this restaurant called Humpback in Outram Park, which had nice oysters. However, it costs eight dollars per piece, which was not practical even for us who love oysters.
We learned that it’s only two or three dollars during happy hour, which is anytime before 7pm. We booked our table and hoped we could be seated early.
There was an event going outside; luckily, they had seats available for us inside.
I wasn’t really a fan of oysters when I was younger. I had a bad experience with it and determined that I didn’t like it. Che reintroduced me to it when I came to Singapore. I started with baked ones with cheese, and later moved to fresh oysters.
Now, when we find good restaurants that offer oysters for less than three dollars, we would usually indulge in a few. By few, I mean, maybe a dozen each for both of us.
We took it as a chance to catch up after a week apart, so there was plenty to talk about.
On our way home, we walked to the bus stop since we only needed on bus to get home. The bus took a while, so Che and Vino decided to do a little photoshoot.
We bought Vino this ensemble from Fila before we flew out to Korea. It was quite pricey, but I think he looks good in it, and he feels good wearing it. In fact, he used one of his pictures from Nami wearing it as his profile picture.
The bus came and took us home. We were still a bit full from our “snack”, so we didn’t really think about dinner much except for Vino, of course.
We had a bit of an episode where Vino can’t take his eyes away from what he’s watching. I’ve told him that I am allowing him to do what he wants as long as it’s not interfering with things he needs to be doing. He’s been neglecting eating or going to the toilet for more time on the tablet or watching YouTube.
I put my foot down and told him I’m banning YouTube, because it’s now taking over his life. It’s probably not going to last, but he should be taken out of it for at least a few weeks.
We ended the day by watching the end of Physical Asia, so we at least had closure from that.
It was an event-filled day that deserved a small nightcap of a whiskey glass.
