It was a family day Sunday for us, as we had some errands and met a dear friend.
We were set to meet our prodigal daughter for brunch, so we started moving to get ready once we woke up.
Che got some clothes for Vino and I got him his headphones. Once he got his full outfit, he felt good about it and he was just walking confidently from the moment we walked out the door.
We went to our go-to restaurant at Paragon, Avenue on 3. It’s our favorite place to get croissants and scones.
We met Che’s work colleague, who we consider as our prodigal daughter. While Steph is our practice baby, we consider Kim to be our younger daughter. It’s been a while since we last saw her, so it was a good time to catch up with her for a bit.
We were teasing her that she looked like Vino’s older sister, and she kinda is, in a way.
We split up, as Che had an appointment and Kim had a house viewing to go to. Vino and I went window shopping in Toys R’ Us.
When he was younger, Vino couldn’t get out of Toys R’ Us without a toy. I’m glad he outgrew that and now we can just window shop in peace. I did get him a fidget toy, because we lost one that he had.
Later, we headed to Decathlon for a couple of things Vino would need for school and his upcoming trip. The school has an upcoming trip for his year level, so we got things he might need for it.
Then, we went to pick up the cup and the bowl that he and Che did a few months back. It had to dry up and get set, then they came back to paint it last month. Now, it’s finally done and ready to use.
We got hungry and went to another go-to place, 4Fingers.
After we got done, we went back to Paragon to pick up some bread we ordered earlier. Che wanted to bring some to the office.
There was a lot to do this day, so we weren’t able to catch mass as we planned. We went back home to rest.
Vino had to do his homework, and he got a bit frustrated with getting things wrong and had a bit of a meltdown. Che was trying to help him out, I tried to stay out. I usually don’t have a lot of patience with Vino when it comes to homework, because I get frustrated with him trying to do it quickly and carelessly so that he can play on his tablet again.
Che would ask me to chill out when that happens, but it was her turn to get frustrated his time around.
We have an agreement that only one of us will get angry, so I tried not to butt in while they were working on the homework.
By the time they got done, we were still a bit full from our snack. Che asked if Vino wanted pancit canton for dinner, and he shyly agreed. He likes pancit canton, but he was still a bit sad about the homework incident. He was trying to keep his smile in, but he was just so happy about it.
When we were in the room, Vino said he was going to try to sleep in his own bed. Considering his episode earlier in the day, it was a bit curious that he didn’t want to sleep with us.
However, it didn’t take long before he went back to his rightful place in the middle of our bed.
He’ll sleep in his own bed in time, but I guess, not tonight.
