It’s been years since I played, but Imon got me to try PUBG again on this not so busy day.

Che had an early call, so she got ready for the day together with Vino. On this rare morning, she left earlier than us.

After dropping Vino off at school, I did some housekeeping duties and thought about eating somewhere while doing groceries. However, I figured I’d just take Vino with me to the supermarket when I picked him up.

When I got to school, Vino asked if he could play with his friends first. It wasn’t too hot, so I let him go while I played on my own.

Some years back, PUBG pulled us out of Mobile Legends. I regularly teamed up with Imon, Bert, Imon’s brother Lex, and Lex’s wife Niki. We would have mics on and games at hours convenient for both PH/SG and LA time.

But like all games, interest in it dwindled, and we lost time playing it.

With my recent gaming spree with Vino playing 99 Nights in the Forest, I guess it made sense that I was drawn to PUBG again. You land with nothing and loot buildings to arm yourself for battle, pretty much like 99 Nights.

Imon told me that he had a weird urge to try it out again, so I tried to polish my own skills so that we could maybe team up soon.

I landed on a prime spot in school where no one else landed, and proceeded to just camp out. My level was too low compared to where it was before so I guess I was paired with absolute newbies and won my game.

Honestly, it was an easier route, but the uphill made it a bit of a challenge. Riding the bus to our house from ARC would mean going around the whole block. Depending on how fast we walked, we could reach the house at around the same time as the bus from the same origin point.

When we got home, Vino was casually telling stories in a loud voice and even turned on the lights in our bedroom. It was only later that he realized his mom was on the bed, and not just a pillow.

He proceeded to play with his friend while they were on Facetime while I prepped for sinigang.

I used pork soft bone, belly, and shoulder just to see which one worked best. I think the shoulder would still have the best balance among the three for sinigang.

After cleaning up, we all moved to the bed, where Che and Vino were still building their restaurants. Meanwhile, I tried to catch up with Running Man.

I’ve been following this variety show for over a decade already, and it’s one of the constants in my life. I’m about 15-20 episodes behind – it’s difficult to play it in the background because I have to read subtitles.

When it was time for Vino to sleep, Che and I went on to watch our K-Drama. As per usual, I was drifting in and out of sleep. When Che said she was game for another episode, I decided to sit down instead of lie down so that I could make sense of the episode at least.

If it were 10 years ago and pre-baby, Che and I would probably stay up until 3am watching these things. But age catches up to everyone, so 1am on a weeknight is pretty late already for this tito and tita.
