Che took a leave from work and we hoped to do stuff together, but ended up just staying home.
The weather hasn’t been good since Vino’s birthday, and the rain just continued to pour down. We’re getting updates from family and friends who usually get floods near their homes, and it’s manageable, at least.
Still, the bed weather pulled both Che and Vino to bed until about 11am. Again, it’s been a tiring few days, so I let them sleep in.
We hoped to watch a movie, but Vino said he wanted to stay home instead. Breakfast arrived an hour after we ordered it, but was eaten at around lunchtime already.
Later, I went out to buy groceries for lunch and possibly breakfast for the next few days. We still had some of my needed condiments at home, but we needed laundry detergent, So I needed to ask which one Che preferred.
I got back home to some food that Che ordered. I told her that I could buy it on my way back, but considering what I was carrying from the supermarket, it was a good idea to have food delivered instead.
Che had a short call to talk about her new role. She had her reservations about it even when the role was made available, but as the days went by, it felt more and more that the timing of this is just right. We’re optimistic that it’s going to go great, and the call just reinforced this outlook.
We watched Con Mum on Netflix, a documentary about how a long-estranged mom suddenly appeared in his son’s life. We have been enjoying documentaries like these, and at least it has closure of some sort.
We also enjoy watching murder-mystery things and unsolved mysteries and later hope that the internet would provide answers.
For dinner, we cooked Che’s favorite combo – bangus belly and salted eggs with tomato. I cut onions separately because she doesn’t like it with her salted eggs.
It’s the days like these that I feared when I embarked on this daily blog thing for the year. There was literally no significant event, and I didn’t even have sudden life realizations. It’s just a day spent together at home, lounging and falling in and out of sleep throughout the day with some shows in the background.
We worry about the people affected by the floods, but naturally, we can’t do anything for them where we are. It’s like we’re still in SG but not quite – we feel the same rain, but we’re not crippled by flood as they are.
All we can do now is pray and hope that the rain stops so that the floods can have a chance to subside.
