Our first full day in the PH saw familiar sights and feelings.

Che went to work, and Vino was very eager to go swimming. Funny how we barely used swimming pools in the condos we stayed at, but when we’re visiting places, he’s always excited to swim.

The place we’re staying at has a good location for the pool, with the buildings blocking the sun. So even if we started swimming at 10AM, the sun wasn’t burning us. Vino had fun diving – something they apparently do in PE class in school.

We got up to take a bath and get ready because we were heading over to my parents’ house, which was pretty far from here.

Vino had ramen the day before, so I told him he should think of something else to eat. He said he wanted Chinese noodles. We started walking to try and find something, but he said he felt tired already.

We found a bento spot so that he could have rice. However, since the shop had ramen, he had it again. Ideally, I’d want him to try different flavors and food, but I’m fine with him choosing the same thing as long as he eats a lot.

After lunch, we headed over to Cainta to visit my sister. We caught up a lot while Vino lounged in the living room.

We were talking so much we didn’t realize someone was calling her to order a hydrophonics kit. My sister has been doing hydrophonics since before the pandemic and she later sold starter kits to people who wanted to get into it as well.

She very quickly put together a kit and answered questions that the guy had about it.

After a good few hours, we took our leave and went back to the hotel to wait for Che’s sisters. Of course, we were made to experience PH traffic again, but thankfully not too much because we were going against the flow people going home.

I ordered pizza for dinner while we waited for them to arrive. Kathreen, who has been living in Korea and Canada, went to visit the PH so it was good to see her again after a long time.

Vino has been super excited to see his Ate Tia. The pair watched and sang along to K-Pop Demon Hunter because why not.

Meanwhile, the rest of us had our usual crazy session. Unfortunately, Che still had to work while we talked. It’s incredible that she got things done with all the noise and distractions we provided.

This gang usually drinks beer, but last time we were together, they made it known that they also indulge in hard liquor. So, I decided to buy the whiskey for us to share on this night.

Apart from talking, we also re-watched some of our wedding videos and marveled at how thin we all were on our wedding days. We talked about plenty of things, not a lot of which can be written or shared though.

We drank until we can’t. It’s a weekday after all, so Ten, Chiro, and Tia left earlier than others, while Kaloi and Elle crashed on the sofa. They all had to work the next day. Kathreen and I continued to drink and talk as the unemployed people in the bunch.

Things wrapped up at around 5:30AM, pretty standard, I guess, when you’re having fun.
