It’s a family day out this day, as Che got tickets for the balloon exhibition in Marina Bay.

Che may not say it much, but she enjoys things like plays, musicals, and museums. Unfortunately, not a lot of these are child-friendly.

Personally, I don’t go out of my way to look for these things, but when she brings me to one, I do get immersed and enjoy the emotions it brings.

Let’s put it this way – if we were ever in New York for leisure, she would choose to watch a musical on broadway, while I would choose to walk around the city to look for things I saw in shows. But I will never be opposed to join her in what she wants to do.

Where she goes, I go – that will never change. That doesn’t mean I give up my own happiness, because I’m always happy when she’s happy. And as I said, I do enjoy these things when I’m there.

Vino is at least showing interest in musicals. Practically all his favorite shows involve super catchy songs – Frozen, Vivo, The Greatest Showman, and over the past week, K-Pop Demon Hunter on Netflix. We’re day 5/5 playing the last movie.

For museums, it’s a bit tricky because you sometimes have to be quiet and can’t really touch artwork. So, we go to these interactive ones where touching installations is encouraged.

The balloon museum was a collection of art piceces that utilize balloons as visuals or air as components. They had colorful backgrounds, some bouncy displays, and even some huggable ones.

We spent a good couple of hours in the place before we left. Amazingly, the guy we booked for Grab going to the place is the same guy we booked to pick us up. I don’t know how much is the probability of that happening, but even the driver was amused at the chance.

Che let go of a couple of bags through Carousell’s consignment service. It can be argued that she has a lot of bags, but I’m fine with it for a couple of reasons – she needs it for sanity and she can sell it at a good value sometime in the future.

My luxuries are my own – laptop, gaming consoles, cellphones – because afte I use them, I I can’t sell them at a good price no matter how well I took care of them just because that’s how tech stuff work.

For Che, her luxuries can later return value if we need it. She has a good eye for things, so I let her buy the things that she wants. The only question I always ask is “can we afford it?”

If the answer is yes, unconditionally, then she should. If there are some conditions, then I tell her to hold off a bit.

We’ll have to wait if the bags will sell, but they were surely well taken care of.

We took the chance to eat at Timbre+ where I previously worked. I saw a lot of changes in the place. A lot of shops have closed down already, but my former workplace, Iskina Cebu, is still standing strong.

I had a short chat with the current owner, who I met before my old boss left. I learned that there are several issues he continues to deal with that we faced before. The food and beverage industry is a tough one here in SG especially for owners. But it does pay well for employees compared to working in the PH.

We went home after we ate, as Che had a salon appointment later in the afternoon. Vino and I stayed home, and he chose to just stay on instead of following Che to Orchard.

We could have done some home errands, but Vino and I lounged on the sofa until Che returned.

It was a typical weekend day for us, and at least we got to walk around a bit in the morning. Tomorrow is going to be packing day, as we leave very early on Tuesday morning.
